On Thursday, July 12, Barbara Delorme was recognized as a Smoke-free Champion by Ottawa Public Health (OPH). For many years, Barbara has facilitated a quit smoking drop-in at Centretown Community Health Centre through the Accessible Chances to Quit Smoking (A.C.E.S.S.) program, a partnership of OPH and community partners that provides support to quit smoking in a relaxed and informal group atmosphere. Barbara graduated from the A.C.E.S.S. program herself 18 years ago. She then volunteered with the program before being trained as a cessation facilitator. Over the years, her knowledge and support have been invaluable to the quit process for a wide range of individuals battling an addiction to nicotine. Congratulations Barbara! read more..
